Originally from Naples, Florida, bassoonist Elizabeth Mee is new to the Vancouver area. She received her Master of Music at McGill University and Bachelor of Music at New England Conservatory. Her primary teachers include Richard Ranti, Martin Mangrum, Greg Henagar, Stephane Levesque, Jeffrey Keesecker, and Kristen Sonneborn. Elizabeth has played extensively in professional orchestras in the Boston area. She has participated in festivals including the National Repertory Orchestra, National Orchestral Institute, Round Top International Festival Institute, Hot Springs Music Festival, Brevard Music Center, Domain Forget Music Academy, Lausitzer Opernsommer, and Rocky Ridge Music Center.
Starting her freelance career in beautiful British Columbia, Elizabeth has performed with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and looks forward to performing in other ensembles and, of course, Ventos Wind Quintet!
In addition to music, Elizabeth is an avid bird lover.
