Ventos was born out of each of our member's individual passion to share their artistry and inspire others while making great music as a group. Ventos (which means “Wind” in Portuguese) aspires to engage audiences young and old with exciting performances of the classic wind quintet repertoire, transcriptions for wind quintet and performing newly composed works for our genre.
Ventos is also keenly aware of the importance of keeping music alive in our schools and advocates working with younger musicians through coaching, mentoring, etc. to find their passion for making music.
As a Canadian ensemble, Ventos also makes every effort to support and program music by Canadian composers.
